Theme: Sustainability and Climate Change

Understanding the impacts of climate change on takeoff performance at airports worldwide

Climate change affects the near-surface environmental conditions that prevail at airports worldwide. As the air becomes warmer, air density decreases, which increases the groundspeed and takeoff distance required to lift the same payload. All other things equal, takeoff operations at certain airports will become increasingly constrained.  Thomas D. Pellegrin, Ph.D. (Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University) will present the summary of his doctoral research.

Electric is the future

Understanding electric power to increase sustainability. What new architecture needs to be developed? Understanding the top challenges with electrification: Do we have an industry standard? How do we create a common architecture? What technologies do we leverage? How long will it take electrification to mature to use on aircraft? What standards and commercial elements still need to be explored?

Theme: Focus on! Sessions

Focus on: Forecast Data Blast from Aviation Week Network

Solving Market Questions with Data and Analysis

See and hear how data and analysis can help your business and discover new markets.  Basic data and analysis tools can assist in finding and targeting new markets in your sector.  See Aviation Week experts as they walk through business cases and learn how to use the information to find key market opportunities, isolate data, and more effectively target new business.

  • Brittany Hill, Manager, Global Client Support, Aviation Week Network
  • Brian Kough, Senior Director, Aerospace Insights, Aviation Week Network

Focus on: Regulation Update

Increasing regulatory requirements: MRO companies must comply with a wide range of regulations and standards, which can be complex and time-consuming to navigate. In addition, the regulatory landscape constantly evolves, and companies must stay current with the latest requirements to remain compliant. What can we expect to see for Asia-Pacific in the next 12 months?

Focus on: Improving end-of-lease checks

How are the MROs in Asia dealing with end-of-lease checks for aircraft returns and re-deliveries to lessors? How can we improve this process and ensure all stakeholders have the understanding and readiness when handling these checks

Focus on: Alternative Solutions for the Stressed MRO

What pressures are there on the MRO supply chain and what can we do to solve these issues?

Focus on: Hosted Session from MSA S.E. Asia Pte Ltd.

Safe Work at Heights on Aircrafts

MSA Safety has pioneered in the development of a fall protection system that provides the flexibility and features that the aviation industry requires.

In this presentation we will review the solutions available to prevent falls from height during aircraft maintenance and how The WinGrip system can adapt to your needs.

Future of Flight: How AAM is Ushering in the Third Revolution in Aviation

Learn how advanced air mobility is changing the aviation industry and how it fits into the aviation landscape as we face this next step-change in technology.

Focus On: IDCA: The Way Data Will be Shared in the Future

The objective of the Independent Data Consortium for Aviation (IDCA) is to develop data-governance guidelines and standards that will allow participants at all levels of the industry share data in a precompetitive, non-proprietary, manner so that true benefits accrue to all. Issues such as data ownership, the right to share, and usage across all levels of aviation, will be tackled so that data does not become siloed and generates inefficiencies and duplication across the enterprise. Currently based in North America and Europe, IDCA is looking to expand into the Asia Pacific region.

Focus On: Diversity in the MRO Industry

How can we diversify the MRO workforce? How have we seen the industry change in terms of diversity in the past few years, and what are the ways in which we can guarantee lesser-represented communities have equal opportunities?

Theme: Innovation, Digital and New Technology

New Technology Panel

Keep up with advancing technology: Modern aircraft are becoming increasingly complex, and maintenance and repair requirements are becoming more sophisticated. As a result, MRO companies must invest in new technologies and train their employees to use them effectively while staying up to date with the latest technologies and how to leverage them in the business.

Moderator: Derwin Sandoval, Head of Maintenance and Engineering, Bassaka Air

  • Trinh Quoc Cuong, Commercial Director, Vietstar Aero Engineering
  • Pandu Dewanamprio, Head of Technical Operations, TBM Aviation

Hosted Session from Ubisense

Closing the data gap by transforming MRO physical space into smart space

MRO providers have lacked a way to track, measure, and control the many physical process flows involved in their business, with most operators having no way to reliably measure current productivity and therefore enable continuous improvement. Until now.

Artificial Intelligence in Aerospace

What does the use and scope of AI growing mean for aerospace? How and where might it be used today. What are some applications or use cases on the horizon where artificial intelligence can play a role?

Supply Chain Maintenance: Latin America operators barriers and opportunities in Asia

Latin American cargo airlines and particularly Mexican carriers, are currently exploring business opportunities beyond their traditional North American suppliers and customers. Market dynamics and regulatory requirements have prompted us to venture into the Asian market. The evolving role of Supply Chain teams now entails developing value relationships with Maintenance suppliers, MROs, shops , couriers, and part suppliers with a deep understanding of the Asian and Middle Eastern regions. In our upcoming presentation at the GoLive Theater, we will delve into the key challenges that some Latin airlines have encountered during their expansion efforts in Asia.

Hosted Session from BOXERSolutions

Using Digital Physics and AI to Understand Turbomachinery Through-Life Performance

Geometry is the Digital Thread of a product from conception, design, manufacture & on to its through-life journey. Once in service the geometry of components degrades, damaged by exposure to high temperatures, particulates, foreign object ingress, etc..

Our Digital GeometryTM modelling kernel is uniquely able to support through-life geometry degradation, damage & wear to allow a physics-based approach to contribute to MRO via through-life performance prediction. Our geometry model is specifically designed to support the needs of AI thus allowing systematic understanding & management of through-life behaviour to be developed to support the economics underpinning MRO

In our GoLive Theater presentation a range of practical examples will be presented & discussed.

  • Bill Dawes, Chairman & CEO, BOXERSolutions

Collaborating to Improve Digital Readiness

How can MROs collaborate more with new partners, OEMs and airlines to improve company readiness in the market?

Digital: Step up or fall behind

MROs in Asia-Pacific are either adopting advanced digital solutions for the first time or are replacing outdated digital solutions that are expensive and no longer able to support evolving business models. What digital solutions are available to differentiate yourself and how are you becoming more competitive in terms of offerings? As we drive towards increased digitalization to reduce costs and increase efficiency, what is out there to offer a reduced and reliable turn-around time and differentiated services?

  • Moderator: George Kanterakis, Research & Innovation Director, GMI Aero
  • Calu Pierluigi, Head of AMOS APAC, Swiss Aviation Software
  • Alex Chen, General Manager - Digital, HAECO
  • Adnan Mansur, Head of Digital and Innovation Services, ADE
